چکیده

In an attempt to grow 8-hy-droxy-quinoline-acetamino-phen co-crystals from equimolar amounts of conformers in a chloro-form-ethanol solvent mixture at room temperature, the title compound, C9H7NO, was obtained. The mol-ecule is planar, with the hy-droxy H atom forming an intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond. In the crystal, mol-ecules form centrosymmetric dimers via two O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. Thus, the hy-droxy H atoms are involved in bifurcated O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, leading to the formation of a central planar four-membered N2H2 ring. The dimers are bound by inter-molecular π-π stacking [the shortest C⋯C distance is 3.2997 (17) Å] and C-H⋯π inter-actions into a three-dimensional framework. The crystal grown represents a new monoclinic polymorph in the space group P21/n. The mol-ecular structure of the present monoclinic polymorph is very similar to that of the ortho-rhom-bic polymorph (space group Fdd2) studied previously [Roychowdhury et al. (1978 ▶). Acta Cryst. B34, 1047-1048; Banerjee & Saha (1986 ▶). Acta Cryst. C42, 1408-1411]. The structures of the two polymorphs are distinguished by the different geometries of the hydrogen-bonded dimers, which in the crystal of the ortho-rhom-bic polymorph possess twofold axis symmetry, with the central N2H2 ring adopting a butterfly conformation.

A polymorph of terephthalaldehyde

A new ortho-rhom-bic polymorph of terephthalaldehyde, C(8)H(6)O(2), with a melting point of 372 K, has been obtained by recrystallization from ethanol. At room temperature, the crystals transform into the well known monoclinic form, with a melting point of 389 K. The crystal structure of the monoclinic form involves C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, but no such bonds are observed in the orthorhombic form. ...

THE TITLE COMPOUND (SYSTEMATIC NAME 2-mercaptoethan-aminium chloride), C(2)H(8)NS(+)·Cl(-), the hydro-chloride salt of cysteamine, in contrast to the previously reported triclinic polymorph [Kim et al. (2002 ▶). Polyhedron, 21, 225-228], crystallized in the monoclinic crystal system. In the crystal, the cysteaminium cations are linked to the chloride anions via one S-H⋯Cl and three N-H⋯Cl hydro...

A second monoclinic polymorph of methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate

A second monoclinic polymorph of methyl 4-hydroxy-benzoate, C(8)H(8)O(3), is reported. The unit-cell dimensions are different from those of the previously reported monoclinic form [Vujovic & Nassimbeni (2006 ▶). Cryst. Growth Des.6, 1595-1597]. The asymmetric unit contains three crystallographically independent mol-ecules, as observed in the previous form. The crystal structure is stabilized by...

Dichloridobis(pyridine-2-thiolato-κ2 N,S)tin(IV): a new polymorph

The title compound, [SnCl₂(C₅H₄NS)₂], is the product of reaction of 2,2'-dipyridyl disulfide with tin tetra-chloride. The Sn(IV) atom adopts a distorted octa-hedral geometry, with the two bidentate pyridine-2-thiol-ate ligands forming two planar four-membered chelate rings. The two Sn-Cl, two Sn-N and two Sn-S bonds are in cis, cis and trans configurations, respectively. The crystal grown from ...
